Half way up the Northern Beaches peninsula south of Whale Beach and north of Bilgola Beach, Avalon was the first beach I visited for this web site.
A wonderful surfing beach about three-quarters of a kilometre long facing the Tasman Sea, it is just minutes from a comprehensive town centre.
